General Strike

American Union > General Strike

The power of a union comes from its ability to disrupt the status quo through a strike. Labor unions may refuse to work; tenant unions may withhold rent, and student unions may boycott classes. The American Union may stage a strike in the ballot box on November 5, but first uses a one-day general strike as a show of unity and strength on October 15 (Muster Day).

The general strike has a clear demand: immediate, pre-election passage of the Trump–Biden Peace Plan, the American Union’s legislative package to end poverty, end mass incarceration, and end the endless wars. Use the form below to add your pledge to shut down the economy for 24 hours on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 and:

  • Not spend any money;
  • Not participate in employment (if your job is essential, attempt to take the day off);
  • Contact your candidates for Congress to demand they support immediate passage of the Trump-Biden Peace Plan; and

If you’re able, and willing to pool your votes to be a decider, observe the fast for peace.

If Congress passes the legislation, and the president signs it by noon on October 30, everyone wins a better social contract and the second half of the general strike is unnecessary.

If the American Union does not call off the general strike in the ballot box, we will disrupt the election by electing the president at random, based on the close of the Dow Jones Industrial Average on Wednesday, October 30.

If the Dow closes on an odd number, vote for Donald Trump.

If the Dow closes on an even number, vote for Kamala Harris.

Endorsements for the other 469 federal races will also be announced that evening. By refusing to cooperate with a rigged system, a tiny percentage of voters can disrupt the election. If a US President is elected at random, the entire planet will know the “winner” does not have the support of the American people. Learn more about how game theory is used in this blog post.
